About Deborah Drattell

A composer and conducor, Drattell has developed a continuing relationship with Glimmerglass Opera and with New York City Opera, where she was composer in residence from 1998 to 2001.

The role of Rasputin in Drattell's Nicholas and Alexandra was rewritten as a tenor for Placido Domingo and premiered at Domingo's Los Angeles Opera.
